That’s a Lot of Work for 3 Minutes

One of my kiting mentors and fellow YouTubers, Glenn Mitchell, is kidding me in the headline above – his observation in the comments section of the video, Rays. Glenn knows it’s a lot of FUN and time well spent doing what we love. All the same, capturing the experience in a compelling few minutes does require some planning, skill and vision, to which Glenn and others can fully attest.  

I love Glenn’s observation in that it got me reflecting on the cumulative effect of my videos along with a frugal approach to acquiring some larger-than-life kites, developing this Website, and producing more rich and informative content.

Collectively, that FUN has resulted in so much more than short videos. It’s opened the door to engagement across the larger kiting community and beyond. I now fly in, document, and promote exciting events; form lasting connections with kiters, communities and business partners; and learn from and mentor others.

In short, nearly a decade of FUN has blossomed into some real work as Showkite Productions, LLC. And for that, I’m thankful!
